Poetry Thursday: Body Part Prompt

Hello Poetteers,

Writing is something I love. I love creating. I love exploring new things. I love exploring the old and everyday things in a new light.

Poetry Prompt:

What is your favorite body part?

Why is it your favorite?

How do you use it.

List three good things.

List three bad things.

Sentence Starters:

I have…

I won’t…

Possible Poetry Type:

What is (blank)?

Pick out your favorite responses. Rearrange it to how it will sound good or like a story.

Example

Hands are there to pick you back up
there to pick up the broken pieces of you
Hands held each other
as each person prayed in their way

My hands lift you from your sorrow
and lift you to see the sun
your heart will lift up with happiness.

Hands turn into fists
pounding to see who is better
one day turning into pounding for help
but no one answers

Hands are shaking
wondering what is next
Hands pick up after the rumble
of the broken pieces
trying to piece them back together
to salvage what they can

Hands turns into peace and victory
of innocent human beings
waiting for the pounding to calm down
it is calm.

stay inspired,
Fida

This is a great suggestion. I did something similar once in which I wrote down what each part of my body would say to me if it could talk. Enlightening and powerful journal work!

This morning we have to come up with some book spine poems.  Rose under fire burned into cinder my name is memory.   Out of the easy and between shades of gray  say what you will every last word.   Her treasures are written in the stars because every soul is a star. I had too much fun with this. I hope you enjoyed this! You can find more poetry hacks here . My poetry book, Her Treasures, is available here .  Thank you, Fida

#LoveAThon Mini Challenge 4

Hello Poetteers, This challenge is all about mash-ups. We have to put together our bookish life with a non-bookish passion. It's easy once you know your passion. I love reading and writing stories and poetry. I love music, food and travel. I want to travel everywhere. Backpack in Europe. Explore Asia. Help Arabia. Try all the different foods. Probably with the characters of PAPER TOWNS. They have a good plan in place. You got to listen to music when you're driving or on a plane. UNWRITTEN is a bookish song. Or anything Natasha Bedingfield. Or anything bought for my phone. I just like background noise when I read or write. Yet I like to hang out with the songs I first heard of when introduced to music, instead of the newer ones. Maybe in our travels and meals we bump into my favorite artists and get to do some cool stuff like write, sing or just explore with them. At the end and even during the adventures I'd keep a journal of poetry and what we did. There I got everything I...
