NaNoWriMo Recap 2016

Hello Poetteers, During the month of November, I attempted at NaNoWriMo. I took a different approach. Instead of writing a fiction novel I decided on a non-fiction project. This project will be a nonfiction story of my journey as a writer. It is something that has been bugging me to be heard and I'm finally listening. It's what I've been leaning towards. Since I thought of it in the beginning of the year I keep getting new ideas for it. I got the final push I needed from #NaNoLounge . Sneak Peek #1 From the beginning, I was already having an endless amount of spelling errors. I was a bit excited about finally working on this story idea. Another thing I kept doing as I write was ending it with referring to read more in a later chapter. For the first week and beginning of NaNo I wrote for 10 consecutive days. After that, I felt the slump and unintentionally stalled the project. I didn't think about it, I almost forgot about it. I picked it back up on the 22nd ...

My Top 4 NaNo Resolutions

Hi everyone, We are midway through NaNoWriMo. My word count is currently at 14k. In their recent email they asked about our resolutions for the rest of the month. My resolution is to let go of the worry of not reaching 50K. 2) to write consistently everyday (mornings work best for me). 3) to continue writing everyday towards my novel after this month is over and to continue to write after 50k, until the story is at the end. Love, Fida Check out my book, Her Treasures .

Monday Blessings - Everything

Hello Poetteers, Here are some blessings I took notice of throughout the past week. Cat cuddles - I think cats can sense when you are upset. Sleep - take in every hour and every chance. One day you can't and will wish you took that nap. Mothers - they are your constant. They are there for everything, they to do everything until they can't but are still there to listen. Something no one else can be. You feel it all when you read/say the word mother. Friends - support you and are generous with their help and love. Crafting - just like writing, it's therapeutic. Strength - you are stronger than you think. You don't know it until you expect the need for it. Prayer - fully trust in God and everything will be okay. NaNoWriMo - my story is going in unexpected ways but it's good and I'm loving it. I'm currently at 7k. Love, Fida Check out my book, Her Treasures .

Hello Poetteers, NaNoWriMo I'm 2k into the writing challenge. Reading I've read Signs Point to Yes by Sandy Hall. I gave it 4 stars. It is cute and better than her first book. I also read Sounds Like Me by Sara Bareilles. It's cool to see the stories behind some of your favorite songs. I'm currently reading Carry On by Rainbow Rowell. Loving I'm inspired to use my planner again. I'm also inspired to use my journal in new ways. I'm enjoying decorating them. I am also doing the #listersgotttalist  challenge. I can't help but mention the books I've read, own and those I wrote that aren't published along with those published. It would be awesome if you could vote for Her Treasures in the poetry category of the Goodreads Choice Awards . Listening To One of the lyrics, "will you still love me the same?" is stuck in my head. It's the song Locked Away by R. City ft. Adam Levine . Thinking About Family and frien...

Hello readers, I'm in the midst of reading HEIR OF FIRE. Whenever I put it down to do life, it kills me. I want to keep reading. I'm still revising DH. Realized I never mentioned her old friends. I realize I have. More than a couple, too. Two about black and white. One about purple. Two about rainbows. Then suddenly I thought of the title for the book. Kaleidoscope. My writing goal is to write 4k today. I did it yesterday, so I'm hoping I can do it again today. I hope I can win nanowrimo within the next two days. What's up Wed: Nov Edition

Hello readers, What I'm Reading Last month I told you I read THE EVOLUTION OF EMILY. It comes out on the 18th and thought I should share my review! The Evolution of Emily by Kate Scott My rating: 5 of 5 stars Just within the first chapter I'm already loving Emily and her want for more. I can tell she's a brave lady. It feels good to read about a quiet main character. There isn't many of them in YA fiction. Her writing style is reflected. I felt as though that Olivia was the main character, as well. And how could I forget Sam (from the first book)? It was great to be able to catch up with her on her life after the book. View all my reviews What I'm Writing I am participating in NaNoWriMo ! My tip is to have an outline. It can be a full one or a one sentence pitch. I have one idea for each day. You are wondering what if the character ends up writing her own story? That it goes a different direction? So be it. I can still put the idea if the day in. I can make it co...

Since Friday night and today I've been spending it writing poetry about nature and love. And working on my nano. (W)rite now, my total is 9,990 words. My goals for this new year: 1) write 1k each day for novelizing. Make poetry big, maybe start getting paid. 2) Exercise body: Yoga 30 mins each day. 3) Exercise soul, too! Pray all 5 prayers, fast, keep tongue moist Allah's name... (just keep improving as Muslim) 4) Be more outgoing and strong emotionally and physically. Stand up for what you believe. If frustrated be able to talk what really is on your mind (resource teacher does care). 5) Last but not least, love. (it's hard to explain, but Allah knows what's in my heart and if He wills, will make it come true sooner than I think). Have a great new year and may Allah bless us all! Ameen! (: -written ...

Time to leave you with another poem: Tell Me Why I Keep Going Tell me why I keep going why I have to push myself. There's so much to do in so little time, I can't go my own pace, I have to go super fast; there's no time to rest, no time to let the tears fall. Tell me why I keep on going why I can't go my own pace. (Written Nov. 17, 2010) thank you, Fida
