TCWT May Blog Chain

Hello Poetteers, It's Monday blessings kind of day and a day TCWT blog chain makes a reappearance. I'm blessed for that. And a few other things I won't mention. This month's question is: What kinds of published books would you like to see more of? Diversity. People of color. Different cultures. Religions. Different disabilities. Physical. Mental. Learning. Deaf. Blind. Wheelchair bound or not. I want stories well researched, not cliched and stereotypical. My friends. Me. I want historical fiction that doesn't take place in Europe. I prefer Asia. I love road-trip stories. I saw someone say this: "a retelling of Anne of Green Gables. #rbwl" YES PLEASE! I saw the same person say this: "I want non-absentee parents who demand an explanation when their kids act weird/disappear randomly. #rbwl " and this: "I love books with big families..." If you see this, I'm working on that. I want SCRAFY IN THE MIDDLE , it's sequel and one shots pu...

Jul TCWT Blog Chain

Hello readers, This month's prompt is:  “Take any character from one of your books and put them in a therapy session. Write a (short!) scene about what happens. (You can include multiple characters and make it a group therapy session.)” I'm taking my MC, Fayha, from WOULD YOU BELIEVE.  Therapist: What has been going on? Fayha: My long time friend is leaving her faith and another friend is bullying me. T: How is this friend bullying you? F: She tells me I shouldn't wear certain things or can't believe I believe such things or would do such things.  T: How does that make you feel? F: sad, mad, useless.  I hope you enjoyed that and you are interested in reading the story. I might do this two those two friends of hers to help my story. Thank you, TCWT for the inspiring prompt.  Btw, I've been interviewed on Saba's blog and Tina's blog about my writing journey and poetry campaign. Check it out! Participatiants :  July ...

June TCWT Blog Chain

Hello readers, the prompt for this month's blog chain is: “How have both the people in your life and your own personal experiences impacted your writing? Do you ever base characters off of people you know?” There are moments in my life that left an impact on me whether good or bad some are stories I see that need to be heard People need to know the struggles and successes of being a Muslim My characters are based off of me and my friends, enemies, or just acquaintances My characters are based on who I wish to be and other dreams I've had. Love, Fida Islaih (all writing is mine & copyrighted unless stated otherwise).

TCWT Blog Chain - Dear Antagonists

Hello readers, Today is also TCWT's March blog chain. The prompt: “Write a letter to an antagonist.” But I don't know who to write the letter to and what. This will be updated later today when I do. I hope you understand, Thanks! Well, I decided to write to a few antagonists instead of one, I hope you don't mind. Also, I'll warn you, there are some spoilers. If you plan to read 'The House I Loved' don't read paragraph two. Enjoy the letter! Dear antagonists, There is some of you I hate and some I'm okay with. I'd like for you to leave. But then how would a story happen without you. Voldy, I know you hate that nickname. I hate that you had people kill my favorite people. But then what would be the plot of the story? So thank you! I know you're hating yourself right now. I'll leave you alone. The government in 'The House I Loved', how can you think of destroying a house, a town with so much history. People have grown to it....

Not So Winners, Inspiration, and Self-Pubbed Books

Hello readers, Sorry for posting so late today. I thought I could go somewhere with a contest. But apparently not. So before I get upset let's get to my topics. Today on Kristy's blog is a Write. Be. Series and today is an inspiration. To me anything and everything is inspiration. I just had a chat with WritersRoad about inspiration. It was awesome! You should join if you haven't already. Other than that, I'm participating in this month's TCWT blog chain. The prompt: “Choose one self-published book to read, then briefly review it or talk about your experiences reading it." I have read self-published books. It's not any different from traditionally published books. As of my little knowledge most self-published books are only in e-book format. And some come free because the authors like to test different genres. Or at least that's what I think. Correct me if I'm wrong. The first self-published book I've read is 'Born of Fire...
