Hello Poetteers,
Most people think of journaling as a diary. That is only one type of journaling in multitude of styles.
4. Friendship Journal
It is a journal that would be passed around between you and a friend. It is like letters you send each other but all in one notebook.
5. Micro Journal
It is a tiny version of the traditional journal. You can create a memory jar and on scraps of paper each time something good, small or big happens you write it down and place it inside. You can write down what you are grateful for on certain days. You can write down jokes, put pictures, tokens like ticket stubs. At the end of the year you can look through it and reflect on how your year went. You can hear Tina at Overall Adventures talk about it.
1. Traditional Journal
This is the most known type of journaling. You keep a record of your day to day life. You reflect on your experiences and emotions.
2. Scrapbooking/Art Journal
It contains both words and sketches. It can include watercoloring or collages. It is a book of blank pages for sticking clippings, drawings, or pictures in. ListersGottaList is a good place to start. You can create lists answering the prompt and decorate the page of what represents the things on the list.
3. Bullet Journal
It is a customizable and forgiving organization system. It can be your to-do list, sketchbook, notebook, and diary, but most likely, it will be all of the above. I've seen people use it to track habits or log different areas of their life. It is also a place to keep spreads/collections of different lists. It is one place to keep your notes from lectures or books you read among your tasks and narrative entries. I recently got into it and you can know more by reading it. Also, there is many communities including this one where people can help you figure it all out.
