Poetry Tuesday: Feelings

Update 4-1-11: poem published on Dear Little Auntie. Hello readers, I Want To I want to feel the excitement again the calm, the enlightening of praying; I want to feel the purity again splashing water, having a smile if reading the quran; I want to feel the freshness again of being a Muslim. Inspired by TSWS on her post, Falling in Love . Fida

Monday Blessings #1

Hello readers, Today is the start of a new blog series called Monday Blessings where I share with you some of the blessings i've noticed this past week.  Y For going to the Indy Girls Qiyaam Y I'm an oversensitive gal. I cry once a week and sometimes more; this past week is the only time I remember not crying. Y My mind is on poetry inspiration overload Y Seeing someone I love wearing my favorite color, purple Y I always feel like I need so much chocolate to make it through the week. I realized I don't need that much Y Having warm weather with a nice breeze Y The rain on my face after a bad day Y For my family and friends Y For the feeling of seeing someone you love soon Y Best of all, being a Muslim and having Allah by my side!! stay inspired, Fida

Poetry Tuesday: My Mind

Hello readers, "I love the rain because no one sees me crying. I love the wind because I can close my eyes and know everything will eventually be okay." My Mind By day my mind... is everywhere else but here; I push on and as I do another part I blank... not remembering, not thinking I still push on, but that special someone notices the look I have "you've had enough." just take a break. A true, fresh from the heart poem written right when school let out. Insha'Allah, I'll have a better day. Fida

Flash Fic: Covered

Hello readers, Why Are You Covered? It's a question I always hear. I'm a Muslim girl and I'm doing what I need to do. That's also the reason why I didn't get much sleep last night. It's Ramadan and I was at the mosque helping set out the food and breaking my fast. I might have been stuffing my face, but my family is known to help the community a lot. We give money to charity, but we also go to random people's houses and see if the need anything done. I have to say we don't help just because we're Muslim. I'm an undercover ninja! This is my first attempt on flash fiction. As you know my writing is my own original piece. Please do not reproduce without permission. btw, check out this site I found: Ninjabi Comics . Fida
