What's up Wed: Nov Edition

Hello readers,

What I'm Reading

Last month I told you I read THE EVOLUTION OF EMILY. It comes out on the 18th and thought I should share my review!

The Evolution of EmilyThe Evolution of Emily by Kate Scott

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Just within the first chapter I'm already loving Emily and her want for more. I can tell she's a brave lady. It feels good to read about a quiet main character. There isn't many of them in YA fiction. Her writing style is reflected.

I felt as though that Olivia was the main character, as well. And how could I forget Sam (from the first book)? It was great to be able to catch up with her on her life after the book.

What I'm Writing

I am participating in NaNoWriMo ! My tip is to have an outline. It can be a full one or a one sentence pitch. I have one idea for each day.

You are wondering what if the character ends up writing her own story? That it goes a different direction? So be it. I can still put the idea if the day in. I can make it connect, work... right? We need that word count!

Also, plan your time!

Love, Fida

Good luck with NaNo!! I agree that even a one sentence pitch as a guide for the day can be a lifesaver while drafting - especially when you're going fast for NaNo :)

What's up Wednesday

Hello readers, What I'm Reading : I got and read two e-Arcs. 1. Behind the Stars by Leigh T Moore. I gave it 5 stars. The synopsis was left vague which left the story to be unexpected. 2. The Attic of Sand and Secrets by Medeia Sharif. I gave it 4 stars. I love the mystery. I love the diversity. Also, I finally... for the first time, got to read THRONE OF GLASS by Sarah J Maas!! I gave it 5 stars. You will find more in depth reviews on goodreads . What I'm Writing : I'm in that two week slump for NaNoWriMo. This weekend I was at 17k. It's been three days and I'm at 18k. Hopefully better days are coming. Lists are very helpfully. I recently learned one way to revise your novel is to write one line about each page you have. It's timely but you get to see what you character or plot point is missing. What Else : Got an award from Jessica at Lunatic Poet , thank you! I have to give seven facts and pass it on to some of my favorite bloggers. - I've been blogging f...

It is a coming out journey, an exploration of sexuality, femininity, loving, and being loved. How to Bloom By Tatyana White Jenkins A collection of poems about the enthralling, complex, grueling, and beautiful journey of growth. The Medicine That Burns by Molly S Hillery It is a raw declaration on what a life of trauma can look like after the dust settles and the poems have happy endings.
