What's Up Wednesday

Hello readers,

I'm finally doing another WUW!! And I have a surprise at the end (:

What I'm Reading

Unfortunately, nothing. But I may have an ARC of 'Ultraviolet Catastrophe' by Jamie Grey in my hands later today!

What I'm Writing

I'm revising a WIP. And getting back to my journal.

What Inspires Me Right Now

All these contests that are about to start and all the books that are being released.

What Else I've Been Up To

Remember how I tried a hand at crowdfunding and it failed? Well I have a back up plan, even though it's minimal.

Next week I will be revealing the release date for my poetry collection. I hope you are all excited because I am!! Also I will have an official call for those who want to help. Get ready and thank you!!

Love,

Oooo what ARC might you have in your hands later today?

Which books are you looking forward to being released? I can't wait for Trish Doller's WHERE THE STARS STILL SHINE and Leila Sales' THIS SONG WILL SAVE YOUR LIFE. :)

Congratulations on having your poetry published! And good luck with your WIP and journalling. I've been trying for awhile now to get back into my once-daily habit of journalling. I kept a regular journal for 20 years, and feel bad that I haven't really kept it up over the last few years.

I need to get on NetGalley or something where I can get my hands on some ARCs to read. I feel like I'm missing out on some good reads (and free books!). I hope you enjoy the one you're expecting.

Have a great week, Fida--and all the best with the book release! :D

Contests! They definitely take work and cause much affliction! Well, maybe not affliction so much as low grade strife :)

Upcoming Poetry Reads of 2021, Part 2

Hello Poetteers,  I'm sharing more poetry books I discovered and am excited to read! March Coming Home to Her By Emily Juniper It is a celebration of being human. It is a coming out journey, an exploration of sexuality, femininity, loving, and being loved. How to Bloom By Tatyana White Jenkins A collection of poems about the enthralling, complex, grueling, and beautiful journey of growth. April The Gravity Inside Us By Chloe Frayne  An ode to whatever it is we carry that pulls us in and out of place, and speaks so insistently of fate. The Medicine That Burns by Molly S Hillery It is a raw declaration on what a life of trauma can look like after the dust settles and the poems have happy endings. It is an unflinching narrative on how hurt is cyclical, how recovery must be redefined repeatedly, and how shame can poison us in the worst ways. I See How You've Kept Me by Aisha Adams A debut poetry book that takes you through a journey of brokenness to reach complete healing. May The

Publishers That Publish Poetry Books

Hello Poetteers, As I was doing my own research for poetry publishers this question popped up on my feed: Does anyone know any publishers that publish poetry books? Later on, while hosting #PoetteerChat I asked what everyone’s plan is for a year from now. Most of you said to be published. I promised a list of publishers, so here’s the top 7 I found. Along with the publisher, I will mention the poets they represent. I want to work with someone I can trust. Seeing familiar names makes them more trustable in my opinion. Andrew McMeel - has published Amanda Lovelace, Lang Leav, Rupi Kaur and more.  Dancing Girl Press - has published our very own Amanda N. Butler.  Bottlecap Press - has published Courtney LeBlanc  Button Poetry - has published Olivia Gatwood, Sierra DeMulder and more.  Two Sylvias Press - has published Jeannine Hall Gailey, Kelli Russell Agodon, Martha Silano and more.  Write Bloody - has published Sarah Kay, Andrea Gibson and more.
