Hello Poetteers,
From a prompt that Dua shared:
Find an Emily Dickinson poem – preferably one you’ve never previously read – and take out all the dashes and line breaks. Make it just one big block of prose. Now, rebreak the lines. Add words where you want. Take out some words. Make your own poem out of it!
I came up with this poem:
There is no ship
like a book
to take us away
from the lands we know
there is no path
like the ones of poetry
to make us love
This is a path anyone can take
without oppression or permission
this is an importance
that carries and bears a human soul.
Love, Fida
