WUW #3

Hello Poetteers, It's what's up Wednesday or maybe not much of what's up Wednesday. I did finish reading PEACHES. I'm in the middle of reading ZEITOUN. My writing has slowed down aka I haven't been writing. Not much inspiration right now. But... I am getting my poetry blogfest ready to start in a few days. Love and thank you, Fida

What's Up Wednesday #2

Hello Poetteers, What I'm Reading? I finished reading STOLEN. Instead of giving a page or less for the kidnapping scene, this story took it's time. I love the descriptions of the land and the things he did. How I noticed his love for the land. I just like that it's a letter. Like I said I love the descriptions, but it's a little too much and not enough action. Maybe this would be better as poems. I don't know. I read like 40% of it before taking a pause from it. I reluctantly and slowly finished it. I still would give it three stars. I also finished PART TIME INDIAN. I love it's constant reminder of poetry. I loved learning about his story. Being in it. I loved that it had to do with a disabled kid, but didn't focus on that part of him. I give it 4.5 stars. I'm in the middle of reading PEACHES FOR MONSIEUR LE CURE. What I'm Writing? I'm slowly still working on that traveling/nature girl story along with some short stories. What Inspires Me Right

Monday Blessings #21

Hello readers, Going through the snowstorm and having a power outage you noticed how blessed you are with the little things like light and warmth and space to help others. Bringing laughs and love through texts. How one thing can lead to another. I make a goal, find motivation posters and videos and soon opportunities become clear. Oh how good it feels to see someone fall in love with your writing and give it good feedback and constructive criticism. Finding old gems and reminders in stacks of paper you saved years ago. Seeing habits come up unexpectedly and work. Of course I can't forget cat cuddles and chocolate! Love and thank you, Fida

What's up Wednesday

Hello readers, What I'm Reading? I'm about to read my first book of 2014. STOLEN by Lucy Christopher. What I'm Writing? I'm working on a new MS. So far mostly about travel/nature girl. What Inspires Me Right Now? The winter camp I just went to, my Monday post highlights it. What Else I've Been Up To? HER OLIVES has a cover reveal hopefully next week and book release in hopefully a month. And here's a little IWSG: I have the cover ready. But I need some quick editing and someone to help format the interior. I feel like I might have to postpone the release date. Love and thank you, Fida

Monday Blessings #20

Hello readers, Happy new year!! What a better way to start it than my counting your blessings?! Seeing old friends and making new friends. Spending the last moments of 2013 with them and the first moments of 2014 with them. It may be my third camp, but it had lots of firsts. First winter camp. First time counselor. First time reading my poem in front of an audience. A first glance to a higher level I have in me. Seeing that I can be stronger, more open. The poem I chose to read really goes with the mood. The miracle that we had flurries during camp, but the big snowstorm held up until we all got home. Being in a Lindt store. Getting a cheetah print scarf. Midnight chats. Pictures. Videos. Cat cuddles. Physical copies of my book. Knowing all the support, old and new. Signing them for friends. Patience I have with pain. All the snacks. All the love. Here's to 2014 and many more adventures. Love and thank you, Fida
