Faith Friday: Story poem

Hello readers,

I can definitely say this week is better than the rest of January, Alhamdulillah! I'm taking a creative writing class and our first project was to write a memoir. While writing I was inspired to write a corresponding poem:

Cover Girl

That girl...
inspired by so many women,
women that cover.

Seeing them, wanting to be...
like them, with them.

That girl
taking the step
to become that covered girl.

Tough times came
being stared at and questions asked,
even being poked at.

But being in a sisterhood
they helped pull through
knowing God is who to please.

Through time
she became stronger,
more confident;

she became free.

(inspired on Jan 27th, but written on Jan 28, 2011).

My Writer's Voice Entry

Some good comes out of this, Yasmeen meets a faithful Christian girl named Jenna and she has a load of questions for her interest in their religion, Islam. What's up Wednesday

Hello readers, What I'm Reading : I got and read two e-Arcs. 1. Behind the Stars by Leigh T Moore. I gave it 5 stars. The synopsis was left vague which left the story to be unexpected. 2. The Attic of Sand and Secrets by Medeia Sharif. I gave it 4 stars. I love the mystery. I love the diversity. Also, I finally... for the first time, got to read THRONE OF GLASS by Sarah J Maas!! I gave it 5 stars. You will find more in depth reviews on goodreads . What I'm Writing : I'm in that two week slump for NaNoWriMo. This weekend I was at 17k. It's been three days and I'm at 18k. Hopefully better days are coming. Lists are very helpfully. I recently learned one way to revise your novel is to write one line about each page you have. What's up Wed: Blog Tour Day 3

Hello readers, What I'm Reading CROWN OF MIDNIGHT! The first book was already great but this second book kicked it up a notch with the OMG! moments. What I'm Writing : I'm keeping on with NaNoWriMo at 28k! In between I'm switching back and forth between two stories: Reading Deciding Hijab after a long break. I forgot about her short conversation about a school dance club. I didn't even put in a scene of her joining after the conversation. More revisions to come.
