LoveAThon Introduction

Hello Poetteers,

(made up by me to mean poetry lovers, just so the new readers know)

My name is Fida. I'm from the snowy Midwest. I started blogging at the end of 2008 after discovering it the same year after being a guest blogger in a blog that is no longer running. I had shared my poetry and loved it. They convinced me to make my own blog.

My blog name has changed a bit. I started of with it being The Poetry Korner, now it's Hugs & Kisses of Poetry. Sidenote: it's also the title of my third poetry collection.

I'm not exactly a book blogger than I am a poetry blogger but when I do review books it's either contemp or historical YA.

Besides poetry and reviews I participate in the weekly What's Up Wednesday memes.

I think the discovery of indie authors and the research that followed for me to fall into being part of the indie community.

I enjoy the friendships!

I'm looking forward to:
An Ember in the Ashes,
A Court of Thorns and Roses,
Queen of Shadows,
Winter,
Written in the Stars.

Everyone should read: Mornings in Jenin.

Besides books I love shopping for
stationary!

Love, Fida

I pretty much nodded my way through your entire list of titles you're looking forward to, because I'm excited about them too! Also, I think it's awesome you dabble in poetry. I used to write poems back in the day, though I haven't done it in ages.

Thanks for participating in this year's Love-a-Thon!
I'm looking forward to a few books that you are as well. Can't wait to see your other posts.

I love stationary as well :) I could lose hours in office supply stores because there is just so much awesomeness on the shelves :P

An Ember in the Ashes is definitely much anticipated for me as well, I can't wait for the release!!!!
Yes to all of those books! Sooo excited for Queen of Shadows!

Stationary, pretty notebooks. I'm a sucker for it all. There's this store in Mall of America (can't remember what it's called now of course) that just sells notebooks, pens and such and it's amazing!! I could spend so much money there.

Hi Fida!

I think it's so cool that you blog about poetry. I'm not very good at writing it, but I do adore reading poems. (I still have a collection of Edgar Allan Poe's that I have yet to start reading). And oh, An Ember in the Ashes is one of my highly anticipated releases too!

Thanks for stopping by The Fox's Hideaway! :)

The Medicine That Burns by Molly S Hillery It is a raw declaration on what a life of trauma can look like after the dust settles and the poems have happy endings. It is an unflinching narrative on how hurt is cyclical, how recovery must be redefined repeatedly, and how shame can poison us in the worst ways. I See How You've Kept Me by Aisha Adams A debut poetry book that takes you through a journey of brokenness to reach complete healing. May The...
