Currently... [4]

Hello Poetteers,

{Fun fact: What's Up Wednesday was based at least in part off of the Currently... post that had been circulating at the time. Thanks goes to Katy Upperman and Jamie Morrow for starting this up again so we all have a way to touch base now that WUW is no longer.}

Loving

Cool breezes on a hot day. Being with friends. Flowers around the house, inside and outside.

Reading

Awhile ago I finished THE HOUSE ON MANGO STREET by Sandy Cisneros. I love the different style it was written in. I gave it five stars. A few days ago I finished EXTRAORDINARY MEANS by Robyn Schneider. It is beautifully written and would give it more than five stars if I could. I'm currently reading LET'S GET LOST by Adi Alsaid.

Watching

Booktube. Family vlogs. Girl Meets World. Videos of Dabke.

Listening to

Rixton. There is a song in my head from Bee Movie that I can't put my finger on.

Thinking about

Changes a year make. Late summer nights, with friends and in prayer.

Anticipating

The ice cream and cake I'll have tomorrow! Ramadan!

Wishing

For happiness and contentment. For peace. Trust. Love. Everything good. To start now instead of waiting.

Making me happy

Friends. Bookstore dates, coffee dates, tea time. Journals.

Love, Fida

It is a coming out journey, an exploration of sexuality, femininity, loving, and being loved. How to Bloom By Tatyana White Jenkins A collection of poems about the enthralling, complex, grueling, and beautiful journey of growth. April The Gravity Inside Us By Chloe Frayne  An ode to whatever it is we carry that pulls us in and out of place, and speaks so insistently of fate. The Medicine That Burns by Molly S Hillery It is a raw declaration on what a life of trauma can look like after the dust settles and the poems have happy endings. It is an unflinching narrative on how hurt is cyclical, how recovery must be redefined repeatedly, and how shame can poison us in the worst ways.
