What's up Wednesday: Mid Dec

Hello readers, I have not done any writing but I did read a bit. I read Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist, Girl Boss and I'm currently reading Rebels By Accident. I did do some more outlining for a couple stories. Mostly deciding small filler scenes that will add some more emotion to the stories. Other than that, I won't be posting next week. So happy holidays! Love, Fida # Poetteers

What's up Wednesday: December!

Hello readers, I haven't read anything after finishing HEIR OF FIRE last week. I haven't written anything for any novels. I have stuck with writing mini poems. I have made this awesome pic to promote my poetry book this holiday: But we can't forget this awesomeness! I'm excited to host the Cover Reveal of Prophecy of the Six, Book Two of the Prophecy Breakers series by Sheena Boekweg, Melanie Crouse, and Sabrina West. The cover was designed by Darren Boekweg of Boekweg Books Publishing and Cover Design. About Prophecy of the Six We didn't know how much we had to gain by being infected with magic. We found a purpose, we found a destiny, and we found each other. But California isn’t the new start we were promised. Dr. Child may be gone, but now we must face a military school, dangerous secrets, and a prophecy that has half the country wanting us dead. When the line between enemies and allies blurs, Sam, Juliette, Ana and I need to choose between love and

Poem - Blessings

Late to you not late to me when I don't know Never too late or too early to feel blessed for the friends who make you fearless Never late or early for a dance or two Never too late or too early for the miracles brought by angels on earth angels in heaven By the One. Poem - She's Here

I hear the garage and thought someone closed it I hear a woman's voice and thought it was my sister I see my brother and thought I saw a sneaky smile I hear him and thought he said a stranger is here I'm scared and thought no I'm excited and thought to creep down I'm happy and thought smiles She's here. Love, Fida # Poetteers

What's up Wednesday: it's December!

Hello readers, I finished HEIR OF FIRE. Glad we still got to read POVs from the guys. That we got to meet Aedion and Rowan. I didn't love but did like seeing Manon's pov even though I don't get it. I might have a clue about it. The cliffhanger is killing me and I have to wait about a year for the next book. If you did see Monday's post I won NaNoWriMo two days early! I'm outlining KALEIDOSCOPE, so that it will be easier to see the plot holes. My goal is to finish that today. Also, PitMad is tomorrow and I might participate in that with the different story. Love, Fida # Poetteers

Monday Blessings #34: Dec Ed!

That's all for now, Love, Fida

What's up Wednesday: Winners!

Hello readers, I'm in the midst of reading HEIR OF FIRE. Whenever I put it down to do life, it kills me. I want to keep reading. I'm still revising DH. Realized I never mentioned her old friends. Now they are starting to appear and love her new friends. I'm also still doing NaNoWriMo. I'm at 41k! Earlier, I was listening to the song True Colors . I think of writing color poems for my book. I realize I have. More than a couple, too. Two about black and white. One about purple. Two about rainbows. Then suddenly I thought of the title for the book. Kaleidoscope. My writing goal is to write 4k today. I did it yesterday, so I'm hoping I can do it again today. I hope I can win nanowrimo within the next two days. Other than that, it's time to announce the winners of the giveaway! I will be contacting you soon. Thank you for participating! If you haven't won or are still interested in my books, you can check them out here . a Rafflecopter giveaway Love, Fida

Last Day of HUGS & KISSES Blog Tour

Hello readers, It's the last day of this belated blog tour. I decided I should share with you some known and unknown behind the scenes facts: 1. While looking for poems to include I cried reading some of them. 2. These poems took more than three but five years. 3. I was supposed to publish in late July but unintentionally delayed it until mid August. 4. It's the shortest out of my three books. 5. Shel Silverstein is one of my inspirations. I will be announcing the winners of my giveaway on Wednesday. Thank you! a Rafflecopter giveaway Love, Fida # Poetteers

Hugs & Kisses Tour Day 4

What's up Wed: Blog Tour Day 3

Hello readers, What I'm Reading CROWN OF MIDNIGHT! The first book was already great but this second book kicked it up a notch with the OMG! moments. What I'm Writing : I'm keeping on with NaNoWriMo at 28k! In between I'm switching back and forth between two stories: Reading Deciding Hijab after a long break. I forgot about her short conversation about a school dance club. I didn't even put in a scene of her joining after the conversation. More revisions to come. The other story is one I have a sneak peak on Wattpad . What Else : It's day three of belated Hugs & Kisses blog tour. Earlier this month Medeia reviewed my book . If you have read it or is planning to read it I would love to see your review on goodreads ! Poetry Prompt : Write about the feeling reading gives you. a Rafflecopter giveaway Love, Fida # Poetteers

Hugs & Kisses Tour Day 2: Cover Design

Hello Poetteers, It's day two of the belated blog tour! I get to talk about the cover design. I knew I wanted an illustration. A hand drawn look a like. An animal or little child with a balloon. While looking up cover artists I fell in love with Sarah Kettle's work. I picked her to make the cover. She did deliver what I wanted along with more. The title had to be in the picture. When I saw the mockup with two birds holding balloons and kissing with a kiss imprint in the background, I knew it was perfect. We just had to change some color and finalize it. She added some beautiful floral bordering and it was set to go. Poetry Prompt Include birds and balloons in a poem. Add to Goodreads | Buy at Barnes & Noble a Rafflecopter giveaway Love, Fida

Hugs & Kisses Tour Day 1: Cover Title

Hello Poetteers, It's day one of belated blog tour of HUGS & KISSES. I already knew I would be using the older poems on my blog. I had to name my book after it. The format is what I was thinking about. Maybe to have it like a list. Hugs. Kisses. Poetry. Maybe I should take out the the word poetry. Hugs. Kisses. Then I decided to simply have it HUGS & KISSES. I wondered to add 'a poetry collection'. I decided against it, since I didn't do it for the other two. Add to Goodreads | Buy at Barnes & Noble Poetry Prompt : Include hugs and kisses in a poem. Love, Fida

'Hugs & Kisses' Blog Tour

Hello Poetteers, I realize I never did a blog tour for HUGS & KISSES. It's been three months since it has been published. So of course I'm going to have a belated one, it will last for a week. It will consist of poetry prompts and behind the scenes facts. Stay tuned! Add to Goodreads | Buy at Barnes & Noble Love, Fida

What's up Wednesday

Hello readers, What I'm Reading : I got and read two e-Arcs. 1. Behind the Stars by Leigh T Moore. I gave it 5 stars. The synopsis was left vague which left the story to be unexpected. 2. The Attic of Sand and Secrets by Medeia Sharif. I gave it 4 stars. I love the mystery. I love the diversity. Also, I finally... for the first time, got to read THRONE OF GLASS by Sarah J Maas!! I gave it 5 stars. You will find more in depth reviews on goodreads . What I'm Writing : I'm in that two week slump for NaNoWriMo. This weekend I was at 17k. It's been three days and I'm at 18k. Hopefully better days are coming. Lists are very helpfully. I recently learned one way to revise your novel is to write one line about each page you have. It's timely but you get to see what you character or plot point is missing. What Else : Got an award from Jessica at Lunatic Poet , thank you! I have to give seven facts and pass it on to some of my favorite bloggers. - I've been blogging f

Mon Blessings #32: Look Back on Love Letter

Hello Poetteers, Violet inspired me to do this. Earlier this year we were in the Love-a-thon blog hop and wrote a letter to ourselves. Here we are towards the end of the year. You can read my letter here . She was looking back on hers and decided to do the same. I felt loved with how I addressed myself. Habibti, my love, my darling. I'm moving along with life. Since the letter I made new friends, reunited with old friends. They are all considered my sisters. I go out more. I still feel like I need to do more. I need to make more of an effort to hangout with friends. Since the letter I went through one of the biggest hurdles in life. It made me appreciate my friends and let them know that. Keep the effort to be in touch. I'm more accepting of who I am with being an introvert. I'm loving myself. And even more loving as I conquer my fears. A couple specific things I mentioned are my books. They are slowly but surely being known. But I know my poems are being lo

NaPoWriMo Day 8

What's up Wed: Nov Edition

Hello readers, What I'm Reading Last month I told you I read THE EVOLUTION OF EMILY. It comes out on the 18th and thought I should share my review! The Evolution of Emily by Kate Scott My rating: 5 of 5 stars Just within the first chapter I'm already loving Emily and her want for more. I can tell she's a brave lady. It feels good to read about a quiet main character. There isn't many of them in YA fiction. Her writing style is reflected. I felt as though that Olivia was the main character, as well. And how could I forget Sam (from the first book)? It was great to be able to catch up with her on her life after the book. View all my reviews What I'm Writing I am participating in NaNoWriMo ! My tip is to have an outline. It can be a full one or a one sentence pitch. I have one idea for each day. You are wondering what if the character ends up writing her own story? That it goes a different direction? So be it. I can still put the idea if the day in. I can make it co

Hello Poetteers, A journey an opportunity to do something spontaneous something you always wanted have someone hold you accountable give you a deadline The nerves the adrenaline you are excited enough to think about it have a nervous breakdown but for once you are too excited to over think you book a time and place You practice and practice the night comes and you hear your name For once it's not something to be scared about you are excited, happy the audience is too they know you That's one thing different in all other times they don't know you and you don't know the subject this time you do You get to the stage and see people smiling not looking like they are bored You hold the mic and start to read transported to that world you give emotion in your voice for emphasis not on your face for fear You finish and leave that world to see people clapping and loving it loving you Throughout the night people come to you saying it was good you touched me I'm glad you did th

And finally, OctPoWriMo >> Rather be have all the chances chasing the sun It's more than what you think written word wanting to be spoken verses decorated seeing the world In the afterlight. /// It's late you're late I don't want to rush I'm tired of having to hurry give my heart a break Don't forget I never do let me know it's going to be okay Cuz even if the stars and moon collide the positive vibes are still in the air centuries have passed it's going to be okay. Love, Fida

OctPoWriMo Day 19

Hello poetry lovers, It is a grey sky it carries on throughout the week the air feels chill feels damp The rain falls a drizzle sounds like tapping on my window it gets heavier sounds like someone left the faucet on The sun shines the most bright after rain after hiding behind the clouds besides a rainbow once it rises The raindrops on the flowers, leaves and grass a beauty only sharp eyes see those are the best moments when you can see shadows and know they will leave. Love, Fida #Poetteers

OctPoWriMo Day 18

Hello poetry lovers, Any luck in being? I'm nervous even with those I love I talk, ramble until I can't anymore My shaking from being nervous finally stops with the talking I'm finally calming down I'm quiet Grateful for the original love from my friend worrying about me finding a pen for me to use being playful with me I'm hopeful I tell myself I have to be elegant but it doesn't last long It's like the nerves took all my energy I start going downhill drained and tired Wanting the frisky back wanting the adventure to go on but I also want it to end rest awhile before the next adventure. Love, Fida #Poetteers

OctPoWriMo Day 17

Hello poetry lovers, The prompt is interesting but I'm unsure about the result: My thoughts are points from a laser I have to connect My thoughts are lines of lasers acting like guards I have to skip I obsessively dream of my other life as it leaves polite echoes in my mind throughout the day I'm trapped in my own mind a statue by my thoughts it feels like a punishment like I have to book it or I can stay and write a book to free myself. Love, Fida #Poetteers

OctPoWriMo Day 16

Hello poetry lovers, After three days of not following the prompts ... Once upon a time I was on one fine wire I was your hope My worry ends you are my hope through the dawn of day and the dusk of night Am I wrong I know I'm not I'm blessed we have a love like this we live happily ever after. It's teen read week! Is my poetry collections one of the many books on your list? I hope so. It might inspire you to get out of your funk. Maybe inspire you to go do something, stand up for something. May just inspire something. I'll stop now. Love, Fida

What's Up Wed & Day 15

Hello readers, What I'm Reading I started and finished SOULLESS by Crystal Collier ! It wasn't as scary as the first book because I've already been introduced to the villains in the first book. The revelations in this story shocked me. I didn't see it coming at all. I can't wait to see how it all wraps up in the third and last book. Finally, DAMSEL DISTRESSED by Kelsey Macke was published yesterday! I got a chance to read it and even finish it. It was a bit hard to read in the beginning. It was an easy read but the topic itself left me anxious. It left me in tears. The music that goes with it helps make the story even that much more powerful. Reading this story I felt like I was in Imogen's footsteps, learning along side her. I love her friends. I appreciate that the author wrote about the topic of anxiety and depression. I felt like I learned more about it. Thank you for an inspiring story! What I'm Writing > OctPoWriMo Instead of following

That is my heart everyday one day you will understand for now let me be. I know it's true it happens to me I'd rather you read my heart than not see my face at all. Monday Blessings #31: Imperfection

Hello poetry lovers, Like I said yesterday I'm stuck on the prompts. But I did end up writing something new this time. Enjoy! Imperfections Flaws Everyone has them some people don't notice them still finding a friend in you loving you. Imperfections flaws I see your aura all around bright and warm filled with love. Poem: Speaking For Children

Hello poetry lovers, it's day 11 of OctPoWriMo ! Young children live under war lose their innocence faster need to be even braver as they play, learn, fight They will forever be in a vulnerable state need to be courageous As they try to live; I am one of them I know these children we have to help echo their voices. Be Aware & Day 10

Hello readers, Disclaimer: this is only what I think when I hear this. Everyone has their own opinion and definition of it. Mental health more important than you think it affects your life something that needs to be talked about, not ignored you are still important if you suffer from mental illness Even if it's something small take care of it all you are still important. My mind spins with anxiety questioning everything checking up on everything big and small I'm still scared to tell people I slowly am the resources on the internet are there to help you I discover journaling a worry list helps once it's out there it's gone in the back of the mind, not forgot but done and moved on a fresh start each day Just remember to not over think to not think it everyday only on its important days because you are important deserving to smile and live. Only some people are recognized with what they have yet everyone has something no matter how small no one is better than anyone we sh

Say Yes & Day 9

Hello readers, Before I share my poem of the day I have something else to share. DAMSEL DISTRESSED comes out in less than a week, on Oct 14!! And there is a catchy tour/tag going on called Say Yes to Distressed . So confession time! My distressing/embarrassing moment was that a close friend was changing something in them and I didn't like it. Instead of going to them I went to not another friend but an acquaintance and burst into tears and told them what happened. I shouldn't have done that. In the end it was fine. I confronted my close friend and she forgave me. We are still close, if not closer today. Since we are talking fairytales, you should check this out: Elissa Sussman Gives Fairy Tales A Feminist Edge Now onto OctPoWriMo : Looking back at the past few days and not much, no one notices the effort I'm putting in I want to stop and see if people still notice if they don't i might need to change something if they do then I have something powerful hidden in the mi

WUW and Day 8

I'm still reading THE PROPHET. I did finish reading BONE, NEJMA and SALT. All of them were prose and poetry books, all were inspiring. I also read an ARC of The Evolution of Emily . It comes out in November. I'll be posting my review closer to the release date. I'm doing OctPoWriMo. I'm using it for both writing practice and to get an idea of the plot for my NaNoWriMo story: Like the moon pulls the tide Seeing something triggers my memory pulls me into nostalgia; People say the full moon has powers I don't see that I do see it marks my calendar; Whether or not the moon has powers it pulls the tide it casts beautiful lining in the clouds illuminating the sky and earth in twilight. Love, Fida #Poetteers

OctPoWriMo Day 7

Hello poetry lovers, The sun has risen it's foggy outside no one is outside expect for that lone car some birds and insects it's like you can hear the hallow in the wind. Love, Fida #Poetteers

Monday Blessings #30

Hello readers, Monday Blessings A holiday once it's celebrated, shows how much belief one has, whether good or bad, strong or weak. What you believe if you say it enough show it enough others will finally come to respect it. Sunrise, sunset night sky and twilight you breathe in and breathe out thankful for another day. OctPoWriMo They always tell you to conform to their style and another group says you have to conform to their style but you are in a different world than either of them your beliefs don't match theirs they tell you are imperfect that you won't do well But you know those who love and support you know you are imperfectly perfect don't you ever change don't let them get to you don't ever feel like your less than perfect. Love, Fida

OctPoWriMo Day 5

Hello poetry lovers, The festivities continue to today, but I still have a poem for you: Autumn upon us the leaves on our path change color there is a chill in the air we change our wardrobe to something thicker We are melancholy for the cold thinking it's the death of us My body tired of the weather but once it comes and stays and doesn't change we feel a little but better But feel a lot better like a renewal, a rebirth when the spring breeze comes in. Love, Fida #Poetteers

OctPoWriMo: Day 4
